Beech Consultants (BC) were commissioned to undertake noise and vibration monitoring during the Demolition Contract Works of a former school within a residential housing estate. Mansell Limited was commissioned to act as the clients (West Cheshire & Chester Council) project managers.
As part of the clients contract requirements noise monitoring prior to and during the demolition works was required to ensure that disturbance to local residents was kept to a minimum. A pre-contract noise survey was undertaken by BC at several locations around the school to establish normal ambient noise levels. Further surveys, using a hand held noise meter was then undertaken as the demolition works progressed. Reports were provided to the clients Environmental Health officers on completion of each survey.
